Important Announcements !!

YOUR PARTICIPATION IS NEEDED!

In 2014, PHARMACISTS BEAT the Department of Health and their planned unrealistic cuts to the pharmacy program. They proposed an even DEEPER cut this year.

The Governor's budget that was released last week included changes in FFS Medicaid reimbursement on brands to WAC minus 9% (~ AWP minus 24%).

This will go into effect May 2015 IF WE DON'T STOP IT!!!
EVERY pharmacist in the state MUST work together to stop this.
If we don't stop it NOW. ---- Managed Care will be NEXT!

Once again, PSSNY and the NYS Chain Association are joining forces to fight this issue. We won last year and we MUST BEAT the Department of Health again!

What can you do NOW?

PHARMACY OWNERS

Run a comparison between your cost of goods for brand name drugs and the proposed WAC -9 (AWP - 24) to gauge its potential impact on your store, and come to your own conclusion as to how to proceed.

ALL PHARMACISTS
  • Sign up for March 3 Independent Pharmacists & Owners' Lobby Day - We will meet with state legislators to make them aware of the impact in their communities. If you can't make it to Albany on March 3 - make an appointment with your legislators at their local offices in your community - report those meetings, here, so that we can follow up.
  • Contribute to the RxPAC so that we can get our message to Legislators. RxPAC contributions
  • Contact your Legislator - In the next couple of days you will get an email from us for you to contact your legislators. When you get this message - ACT IMMEDIATELY, then forward the link to your colleagues, employees and all pharmacists and pharmacy owners in your network.
